Health
Your total Health Levels are dependent primarily upon your
Stamina.
0 – 1 Bashing, 1 Lethal.
1 – 2 Bashing, 2 Lethal.
2 – 3 Bashing, 2 Lethal.
3 – 4 Bashing, 3 Lethal.
4 – 5 Bashing, 3 Lethal.
5 – 6 Bashing, 4 Lethal.
You may also gain additional Health Levels through magic or
armor. Armor may never block damage from
Paradox, or from most Spheres except Forces.
Light armor (leather, football gear, etc.) grants an
additional Bashing Health Level.
Moderate armor (chain mail, ballistic vests, etc) grants an
additional Lethal Health Level.
Heavy armor (plate mail, riot gear, etc) grants an
additional Bashing and Lethal Health Level.
Damage
Damage is marked directly on your character sheet. There are two columns – Bashing and Lethal
damage.
Bashing damage
comes from fists, clubs, and blunt attacks.
When you lose all your Bashing Health Levels, you fall unconscious for
an hour.
A level of Bashing Damage is enough to cover a normal human
in bruises and welts.
A normal human collapses into unconsciousness after two or
three levels of Bashing Damage.
Lethal damage
comes from swords, guns, and other deadly weapons. When you lose all your Lethal Health Levels,
you fall to the ground in agony, unable to do anything except lie in pain for
the rest of the game. Any additional
Lethal Damage will permanently kill the character.
Note: To permanently
kill a character, you must have an ST present.
Killing a character requires a deliberate coup-de-gras, except in the
most extreme circumstances (thrown from a building, ground zero of a bomb,
etc).
A level of Lethal Damage is enough to put a normal human in
the hospital. Two levels of Lethal
Damage will kill a normal human outright.
Weapons
All weapons do one
level of damage at a time. Blunt weapons
do Bashing, deadly weapons do Lethal. As
far as hand-held weapons go, there are no exceptions to this rule. You would need to get your hands on some
seriously heavy ordinance to justify doing more than 1 Lethal per attack.
